What are the ingredients that make tea so healthy? Tea contains flavonoids, naturally occurring compounds that are proven to have antioxidant properties. Antioxidants help neutralize free radicals, which if present can contribute to cardiovascular diseases, cancers and Alzheimers. Tea also contains additional immune system-boosting compounds.
Does it matter what kind of tea I drink? Research has shown that all varieties of tea leaves have beneficial qualities. Black, green, white and oolong tea leaves come from the Camellia sinensis tree and all generally contain the same amount of flavonoids.
